Introducing Mrs. Pauline Serpe on her special day wearing a custom designed wedding gown.  The theme was a romantic,
Victorian costume drama set at The Bourne Mansion on Long Island's Great South Bay. Pauline had almost her entire wedding
party designed and produced by Kathryn Hunt.  In addition to the brides gown, custom gowns were created for the Maid of
Honor, Bridesmaids and Bridal Attendants.
Custom Fashion Design Services

Custom design projects treat the client to
one-on-one time with the designer through
the entire process.  This can include day
trips to fabric stores or Manhattan's
garment district to get inspiration and
hands-on involvement in the creation of
their one of a kind creation.  A once in a
lifetime experience you will want to repeat!
Custom Design
As an aspiring actress, Pauline wanted a costumed drama in a luxurious, dramatic setting.  The bride chose a luxurious rose &
ivory damask with a delicate pale gold vine and flower motif for a cathedral length bustle.  Her gown was constructed in an ivory
silk satin and included a complete foundation.  Instead of a traditional veil, a new look was created in a sparkling champagne tulle,
a hooded cape with cathedral length train.
What to expect when crafting a custom designed
garment

First Visit
- Meet with a designer to review your
inspiration, fabric selections and design possibilities.

Muslin Fitting - In 2-6 weeks a muslin or fabric drape
will be ready for a first fitting.  There may be multiple
muslin fittings before cutting fabric for your garment.
Some garments require a first drape in fabric similar to
the final fabric.

Garment Fittings - When the muslin is approved your
garment will be cut from the final fabric and assembled
over the course of several fittings.

Plan on several weeks to months for the custom design,
cut, fit and finish of your one-of-a-kind garment.
